Whaaaaat, I don’t think that quote was anti-contraceptive pill at all, it just mentions it’s an inconvenience. I’m not anti-contraceptive pill, I’m on the pill. I reblogged that quote, then read the post linked and I super do not agree with a most of what she proposes. Without the context of the overall argument I interpreted it as “we’re taught a narrow definition of what sex is, one that caters to men and our purpose in relation to men, and we’ve been taught a limited amount about our own anatomy and enjoyment because of that”, but in context it’s actually really disgusting because the post is about how all hetrosexual sex or “PIV” is rape which is incredibly stupid and I don’t even want to get into it.
"If a girl is lucky enough to receive any sex education, she will be taught the biological basics. She’ll learn that men have penises and testicles and produce sperm and women have vaginas and uterii and produce ova. She’ll learn that when a man and a woman have sex, the man inserts his penis into the woman’s vagina until he ejaculates. She’ll learn that the semen in the ejaculate will render her vulnerable to pregnancy so she will have to protect herself by using a hormonal or a barrier contraceptive. Hormonal contraception is preferable because barrier methods such as condoms, while safer for women, apparently reduce sensation for men which is obviously a no-no. It’s much better that a woman take a pill every day for her entire reproductive lifespan, or get a painful injection every 12 weeks, or have a copper rod inserted into her uterus, or a silicone rod implanted into her arm. She probably won’t learn that 3 out of 4 women never orgasm from vaginal intercourse. She almost definitely won’t learn how women do achieve orgasm. She’ll learn her place as a receptacle."

grades are NOT an indication of how smart you are whether you can recite all john green novels and ship johnlock while humming the dr who theme shows your real brainpower thanks tumblr dot com I don’t even know why I tried to pass my tests while I could’ve been shoving tea leaves, young adult novels and animal crossing cartridges up my ass instead
I feel like there should be a collective post of the Alex Day posts like there was with the Tom Milsom stuff that people who are confused can be directed to, so:
Note that not all of these people experienced sexual abuse or assault— some are just detailing general manipulation, disrespect of boundaries, etc.
Sexual Abuse and YouTube (first person to come forward)
alex day is a sexual predator who targets young people (third person)
I’ll add more if there is more, but this is everything I’ve seen.
On mistakes (Alex’s response)
On mistakes 2 (response to his response, from the first person to come forward/author of the first Sexual Abuse and YouTube post)
Re: On mistakes (a response by Lex Croucher, YouTuber and former friend of Alex’s)
And another update:
Couldn’t sleep. wanted to rant too. for the final time. (the ninth person to come forward— originally posted to their main blog, then moved to where it’s currently linked)
Alex Day. (the tenth person to come forward)
There are now at least ten people, seven of whom are not anonymous, that have spoken out about shitty things Alex Day has done. Can we please start taking this seriously now and not dismissing it as “anons lying for notes”?
Final update (probably):
On consent (Alex’s second response + admission + request for DFTBA to remove his merch)
Pottermoosh's response to Alex's “On consent” post
I was wrong, update again:
Standing up for the count (an eleventh person has come forward)
ALRIGHT. (a post by YouTuber Kerri Shore about similar patterns from Alex very recently)
Sort-of response and very important post by Liam Dryden (friend/bandmate of Alex)
Response from Lex:
On the YouTube abuse scandal that has come up over the past few days. (Tomipuff, now the thirteenth person, has come forward about their experiences)
The Last Week (Carrie’s response)
WTF Is Going On? (Hank Green’s response)
Sexual Abuse, Consent, and Losing Friends (Charlie McDonnell’s response on his website blog)
Kristina Horner (YouTuber and ex-girlfriend of Alex) has posted this
Today is Copernicus’s 541th birthday. You may remember Copernicus as the man who said “Hey, what if the Earth went around the sun?” To which the Catholic Church replied “Hey, what if we set you on fire?”
